Social Disappearance : Explorations Between Latin America and Eastern Europe
New forms of precarious existence that affect an increasing number of people around the globe point to a shift in the deployment of dispossession and violence. In their specific geographic and historical contexts, these life-worlds reveal similar patterns in terms of social invisibility and abandonment by the state. The contributions gathered in this volume discuss this development through the category of social disappearance in a series of case studies drawn from Latin America and Europe.
