OIS 5 - Reconstructing Neighborhoods of War
Reconstructing Neighborhoods of War’ investigates post-war reconstructions with a lens on the social fabric of neighborhoods. Taking a global comparative approach, the discussion brings together the work of academics and those professionally involved in reconstructions, including activists, architects and city planners, to find common ground and contribute meaningful solutions to the rebuilding of neighborhoods and communities. The blog entries originate from the presentations of the international and interdisciplinary conference ‘Reconstructing Neighborhoods of War’, which took place at the Orient-Institut Beirut from 29 November to 1 December 2018. The conference was convened by Birgit Schäbler, director of the OIB. Articles are published on the TRAFO blog https://trafo.hypotheses.org/category/reconstructing-neighborhoods-of-war
